Why Fresno Homeowners Choose LiftMaster Gate Repair

We repair and service LiftMaster gate operators across Fresno, from the ornamental iron driveway gates in Fig Garden to the older single-swing setups in the Tower District. For dedicated Fresno Liftmaster service, we work on these operators every week. As an independent LiftMaster service provider, we are not factory-authorized, but we work on these operators every week and know exactly how Fresno’s heat, dust, and power fluctuations affect the LA400, LA412, CSL24V, and SL3000 lines. When you call (559) 785-2501, a live person answers, and you get a written price before any work begins.

Why Trust Latch and Post Gate Repair Fresno for Your LiftMaster Gate Repair?

We see LiftMaster operators in states most homeowners never look at until the gate stops moving. Cody Beckman, our owner, spent two years in the welding and fabrication program at Cerritos College learning how metal actually behaves before he ever opened a gate motor housing. That background matters when a swing gate has been shifting out of plumb for two years and slowly eating a gearbox. His crew has put in steady hours along the older residential streets near Woodward Park, where swing gates and aging LiftMaster arms need the most attention. We also provide Liftmaster repair in Clovis for homeowners with similar aging systems. We know what a limit switch cam looks like after five Fresno summers of UV exposure. We know what a control board sounds like when a capacitor has swollen from heat. And we know when to repair an operator versus when we should tell you plainly that a rebuild costs more than the gate deserves. That’s the visit you get from us. We bring shoe covers, drop cloths, and a written price. If you want to watch the diagnosis, Cody will show you what wore out and explain why, because if he can show you what failed, you can decide what makes sense. That is really all this visit needs to accomplish.

Common LiftMaster Gate Repair Problems We Fix in Fresno

  • LA400 swing-arm operators that beep but don’t move. The LA400 is the most common LiftMaster arm we see on Fresno residential gates, and this symptom usually points to a failed limit assembly or a control board that never received the signal that the gate reached closed position. Summer heat accelerates capacitor degradation inside the board, and UV exposure cracks the plastic limit cams. We stock both.
  • LA412 gates that open six inches and stop. This is a limit switch issue almost every time. The cam inside the limit assembly cracks from sun exposure, the board loses its reference point, and the gate freezes. We’ve seen this exact failure on a northwest Fresno home where the operator sat in direct afternoon sun for most of its life. Replaced the limit assembly, re-squared the gate to the post, and it has cycled clean since.
  • SL3000 slide gates that stop halfway, every time. The SL3000 uses limit switches that drift over time, especially on heavier slide gates. When the gate stops midway, the operator thinks it has reached its limit. Sometimes the fix is a simple limit re-set. Other times the limit switch itself has failed, and the gate over-travels until it bends a bracket or stresses the post. We check both before quoting anything.
  • CSL24V slide gates that die during a PG&E outage. The CSL24V runs on 24-volt DC and is designed to work with battery backup, but battery packs age out in Fresno heat, and transformers fail during brownouts. If your gate went dead during the last outage and never came back, the transformer or the batteries are the first things we test.
  • Stripped gearboxes and burned-out motors on LA400 arms. This happens when a gate is out of balance or a hinge binds, and the motor pushes against resistance every cycle. The LA400 arm’s gearbox strips, or the motor overheats and burns out. We always check gate balance and hinge condition before replacing any electrical component, because a new motor on a binding gate will fail the same way.

LiftMaster Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

We install OEM LiftMaster parts when the component has to match factory programming. That means control boards, motors, and limit assemblies on the LA400, LA412, CSL24V, and SL3000 lines. For capacitors, transformers, and some limit switches, we use proven aftermarket parts that cost less and last just as long in Fresno conditions. We don’t markup parts to pad the invoice. You’ll see the part cost and the labor cost separately on your written quote, and you’ll see it before any work starts.

On repair versus replace: if an LA400 gearbox has stripped and the arm is over ten years old, we will tell you that a new operator often costs less than a rebuild. If the board has failed but the motor and gearbox are still solid, we’ll replace the board and leave the rest alone. We are not going to sell you a new operator when a $60 transformer fixes the problem. But we also won’t patch a 12-year-old arm with three failing components and call it done. You get the straight answer either way. Call (559) 785-2501 if you want us to look at yours.

Our LiftMaster Service Process – Step by Step

  1. 1
Diagnosis. We arrive, introduce ourselves, and ask what the gate has been doing. Then we open the operator housing, check the board, limit assembly, gearbox, and wiring, and run the gate through a full cycle if it will move. We lay down drop cloths if we are stepping inside, and we put on shoe covers before we cross your threshold.
  2. 2
Written price. You get the total before we touch anything beyond the diagnosis. No pressure. If you want to think about it, that’s fine. The written quote is yours.
  3. 3
Repair or installation. We replace the failed LiftMaster component, re-set limits, re-square the gate, and run the operator through multiple cycles. We use quiet tools if kids or pets are sleeping.
  4. 4
Testing and walkthrough. We cycle the gate at least a dozen times, test the safety edges and photo eyes, and check battery backup on CSL24V units. Then we show you what we replaced and why it failed.
  5. 5
Warranty. Every repair and installation is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If it is not done right, Latch and Post makes it right. No argument, no fine print.

LiftMaster Products We Service & Install in Fresno

We service and install the LiftMaster lines Fresno homeowners actually have: the LA400 and LA412 swing-arm operators, the CSL24V and SL3000 slide gate operators, and the LiftMaster gate openers paired with Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing hardware on mixed setups. We also offer Liftmaster service in Madera for these same product lines. We stock common LiftMaster boards, limit assemblies, capacitors, and transformers in our Fresno service vehicles, which means many repairs happen on the first visit. If we need a part we don’t carry, we’ll give you a clear timeline before ordering it.

We Also Service These Brands

LiftMaster is the brand we see most often, but our crew is factory-trained on the operators Fresno families actually own. Our Gate Repair expertise extends to every major brand in the field. We repair Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing equipment as well, plus FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, and Elite. If your gate brand isn’t listed here, call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether we can help.

FAQs – LiftMaster Gate Repair Service in Fresno

Is Latch and Post Gate Repair Fresno authorized by LiftMaster?
No. We are an independent LiftMaster service provider, not a factory-authorized dealer. That means we’re not tied to manufacturer pricing or parts quotas, but it also means any warranty claims for new parts go through LiftMaster’s own channels. The trade-off is that our techs know Fresno-specific failure patterns that factory literature doesn’t cover, because we see these operators in Central Valley heat and dust every week.

Do you use genuine LiftMaster or OEM parts?
For control boards, motors, and limit assemblies, yes. Those components have to match factory programming, and aftermarket versions can cause more trouble than they save. For capacitors, transformers, and some limit switches, we use proven aftermarket parts that hold up in Fresno temperatures and cost less. You’ll see exactly what we’re installing and why, before we install it.

How long does LiftMaster gate service take in Fresno?
Most LA400 and LA412 limit switch and capacitor replacements are done in under two hours, including testing. Board replacements and SL3000 limit work can run longer if the gate needs re-squaring or new brackets. We’ll give you a realistic time estimate with the written quote. Call (559) 785-2501 and describe your symptoms, and we’ll tell you what to expect.

What LiftMaster models and series do you cover?
We cover the LA400 and LA412 swing-arm operators, the CSL24V slide gate operator, and the SL3000 slide gate operator. We also work on LiftMaster gate openers paired with other brand hardware, which is common on Fresno properties where a gate was upgraded over the years without replacing the operator.

Will your service void my LiftMaster warranty?
If your operator is still under LiftMaster’s factory warranty, non-authorized service can affect coverage on certain components. We recommend calling LiftMaster directly to confirm what your warranty covers before proceeding with third-party repair. If the unit is past its warranty, which most Fresno LA400s and LA412s are, it doesn’t matter. We’ll tell you what we found, what it costs to fix, and whether the repair makes sense.

How much does LiftMaster gate repair cost in Fresno?
A limit switch or capacitor replacement on an LA400 typically runs between $145 and $260, including the part and labor. A control board replacement on a residential gate operator usually lands between $350 and $600. Full operator replacement runs higher, depending on the model and whether we’re reusing existing posts and wiring. Every quote is written and agreed before any work starts. Call (559) 785-2501 for an exact price on your specific operator.
