We install and configure FAAC swing and slide gate systems for Fresno homes, including the C720, C721, S418, S450H, and 770 series, and we’re typically on site within one to two business days for new installations. As an independent FAAC service provider, we do not work for FAAC and we are not an authorized FAAC dealer, which matters because we will always tell you the truth about which parts are worth buying direct from FAAC and which quality aftermarket components will do the job for less. You’ll get a written price before we touch anything, and every FAAC installation we perform is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If you’re weighing a new gate or replacing an old operator, call (559) 785-2501 and we’ll walk you through what your property actually needs.
How FAAC Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
FAAC builds hydraulic and electromechanical operators that differ from nearly every other brand on the market, which means the failures we see in Fresno are specific, repeatable, and usually fixable on the first visit.
- C720/C721 swing operators losing pressure and drifting closed. These are hydraulic units, and when a seal wears or the fluid level drops after years of Fresno summer heat, the gate will start to drift or refuse to hold position at the open limit. We bench-test the pump section, replace the worn seal or bypass valve rather than the entire operator, and re-bleed the system. More than half of the C720 units we see don’t actually need a full replacement, just a proper hydraulic service that most gate companies won’t attempt.
- S418 and S450H slide gate operators with a sheared drive pin or worn output gear. FAAC slide operators transfer motor force through a gear reduction that does not tolerate a misaligned gate track. When a gate wheel binds or the track has settled out of level, the drive pin or output gear takes the punishment and fails. We replace the gear set with OEM FAAC components when the operator is still under warranty, and we align the gate, track, and end stops so the new parts don’t die the same way in eighteen months.
- 770 series control boards showing error code E5 after a Fresno power surge or rolling brownout. The 770 board is sensitive to voltage irregularities, and the E5 code (motor thermal protection active) will lock the gate out entirely. Before you buy a new board, we test the motor windings and the capacitor, because a failing capacitor will trip the board repeatedly and waste the cost of a replacement board that wasn’t actually bad. That’s a real pattern we have seen on gates near Woodward Park, where some of the older electrical services run at the low end of the acceptable voltage range.
- FAAC photocells and loop detectors that test fine on the bench but fail intermittently on site. FAAC edge and photo safety devices communicate with the control board through a specific resistance range, and a corroded terminal block or a splice that has absorbed moisture will produce a fault only when the gate is mid-cycle. We pull the wiring, replace the terminal strips and connectors, and seal the enclosure so the fault stops. On FAAC jobs, the wiring connections matter more than on most other brands because the board reads resistance, not just an open or closed circuit.
- Original FAAC remotes and receivers losing range, especially on metal-clad Fresno gates. The FAAC RC and XT series remotes operate at 433 MHz and their range drops sharply when the receiver is mounted inside a steel post or behind a thick metal panel. We relocate the receiver antenna, add an external antenna kit where the FAAC board supports one, and in some cases swap in the newer FAAC radio receiver that has materially better sensitivity. That’s usually a $120 to $220 fix instead of a whole new system.

Our FAAC Gate Installation Process
Every FAAC job follows the same steps, whether we’re installing a new swing gate operator on a pedestrian gate near Bullard High or a full slide gate system on a rural lot off Highway 168.
- 1
Call and site check. You call (559) 785-2501 and talk to a live person, day or night. We schedule a visit and our technician arrives in a uniform, introduces himself, and walks your property with you before touching anything.
- 2
Measurement and load test. We measure the gate leaf weight, length, and swing or slide distance, and we check the posts, hinges, and track condition. FAAC operators are engineered for specific gate weights and duty cycles, and we select the model that matches your gate, not the one that’s easiest to order.
- 3
Written price before work starts. We hand you a written quote that covers the operator, mounting hardware, wiring, safety devices, and labor. That number doesn’t change unless we find a structural problem we could not see during the site check, and we explain any change before doing it.
- 4
Installation and wiring to code. We mount the operator, run the low-voltage wiring, install photocells and edges, and set the open and close limits. On FAAC hydraulic units, this includes bleeding the system and running a full duty-cycle test without the gate attached to the arms, so the first real opening cycle is clean.
- 5
Safety and force testing. We test the obstruction response, the photo eyes, the release mechanism, and the manual operation in a power failure. FAAC boards have specific force-learning routines, and we run them properly rather than setting the force high enough to compensate for a gate that doesn’t travel smoothly.
- 6
Cleanup photo and guarantee. Before we leave, we sweep the work area, take a photo of the cleanup, and walk you through what we installed and why. Every FAAC installation is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If something isn’t right, we come back and make it right.

AfterWhat FAAC Gate Installation Costs in Fresno
FAAC installation pricing in Fresno reflects the operator series, the gate type, and whether we’re starting from an existing concrete pad or pouring a new one. These are real numbers from recent Fresno jobs, not brochure estimates.
- FAAC C720 or C721 swing gate installation on an existing single swing gate: $2,800 – $4,600, including hydraulic operator, two photocells, push-to-open hardware, and full programming.
- FAAC S418 slide gate installation on an existing rolling gate: $3,200 – $5,400, including rack, safety edges, loops or photocells, and programming.
- Double swing gate with two FAAC operators, synchronized: $5,800 – $8,900, including both operators, photo eyes, synchronization board, and all mounting hardware.
- 770 series control board replacement or retrofit, no new operator: $1,100 – $1,900, including board, wiring cleanup, and programming.
- New gate fabrication with FAAC operator: $6,500 – $14,000 depending on gate style, length, and material.
The price moves based on gate weight and length, whether we need to run new electrical, and whether the existing posts are plumb and solid enough to hold a powered gate. Every quote is written and agreed before any work starts. Call (559) 785-2501 and we’ll give you a free estimate, no pressure and no surprise line items.
Why Fresno Homeowners Call Latch and Post Gate Repair Fresno for FAAC Work
Most Fresno homeowners don’t need a gate company that touches a little of everything. They need a technician who has actually diagnosed a lazy FAAC C720 that drifts at the open limit, and who knows the difference between a bad board and a bad capacitor. That’s what we do. Our technicians are background-checked, uniformed, and trained on the brands families actually own: FAAC, LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing. Every job follows the Cedarwell C.A.R.E. routine: we lay drop cloths before we step inside, we put on shoe covers, we ask before we move anything, and we send a cleanup photo before we leave. If you have kids and a dog, we can schedule around nap time and use quiet tools when it matters. And the 365-Day Done Right Promise covers every FAAC installation: if it isn’t right, we make it right, no argument, no fine print. Our founder, Cody Beckman, got his start in the trade through the welding and fabrication program at Cerritos College, and he has been fixing gates for eighteen years now. He still says the same thing on job sites in Fresno: “If I can show you what wore out and explain why, you can decide what makes sense – that is really all this visit needs to accomplish.”

Most FAAC gate installations in Fresno run between $2,800 and $8,900 depending on the operator series, gate type, and site conditions. You’ll see the exact number in writing before we begin, and the price we quote is the price you pay. Call (559) 785-2501 for a free, no-pressure estimate.
No, we don’t promise same-day installations, because a proper FAAC install involves measuring the gate, confirming the electrical, and ordering the right operator for your gate weight. We typically schedule installations within one to two business days and we’ll give you a fixed time window so you’re not waiting around.
We install FAAC operators on both existing and new gates, as long as the existing posts and hinges are structurally sound. If your current gate is out of plumb or the posts are loose, we’ll tell you before any work starts and give you a written price for the gate work as well as the operator.
Yes, when the FAAC operator or components are still under manufacturer warranty, we use OEM FAAC parts for the installation and follow FAAC’s published installation and programming procedures. We can’t speak for the manufacturer, but we install to the specification so your warranty claim remains valid if the equipment itself fails.
Yes, our technicians are trained on LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing equipment in addition to FAAC. If you have a mixed system or you inherited a gate with a different brand operator, we can service and install across all five brands. Call (559) 785-2501 and tell us what you have.
Every FAAC installation quote includes the operator and all mounting hardware, the low-voltage wiring, safety photocells and edges, programming and testing, and the labor to complete the installation. Cleanup and the 365-Day Done Right Promise are always included at no extra charge.
