Most Fresno homeowners don’t need to hear another pitch about gate repair. They need to see what a finished job looks like after a sagging post, a dead opener, or a latch that hasn’t caught right in months gets addressed by someone who works on gates every day. The transformations below aren’t stock photos pulled from a catalog. They’re the kind of work we’ve handled across Fresno, Clovis, and the surrounding neighborhoods since 2009. Same kind of gate you have. Same wear. Different result.

Sagging Wood Gate on Worn Hinges in the Tower District
Before
AfterThe problem was familiar to anyone with an older wood gate in the Tower District: the hinges had worn into egg shapes over years of Fresno heat and use, and the latch bolt sat a good inch below the strike plate. We replaced the hinge hardware with heavier gauge pieces, reset the gate on fresh screws into solid wood, and adjusted the latch so it catches with a soft click instead of a shove. The gate still has its original character. It just works again. Cody Beckman has pulled a lot of these apart, and he’ll tell you the hinge is almost always the liar in the room: looks fine, holds nothing.
Electric Gate Opener Failure in Woodward Park
Before
AfterA Woodward Park homeowner came home to a gate that wouldn’t budge, and the issue turned out to be a failed control board in a LiftMaster opener that had been running since the mid-2010s. We pulled the board, confirmed the arm and capacitor were still sound, and installed a factory replacement matched to the unit rather than selling a whole new operator. Limit switches were reset so the gate stops exactly where it should, and the auto-close delay was dialed back to what the family actually wanted. The whole job came with a written price before we started, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the new board.
Broken Welded Gate Frame in Sunnyside
Before
AfterThis Sunnyside gate had a top weld let go, which let the whole frame rack sideways until the latch side dropped and started scraping. We stripped the damaged section, welded the joint back with a reinforcing plate behind it, and touched up the finish so the repair doesn’t announce itself. A gate that binds at the post is working against its own hinges every time it opens, so we straighten the frame first and chase the latch second. If the latch is the job, the post is usually the reason. That’s the whole business, really.
Misaligned Double Gate in Fig Garden

In Fig Garden, a double driveway gate had settled so unevenly that the leaves overlapped by half an inch and the drop rod had carved a groove in the concrete looking for a receiver that no longer lined up. We re-hung both leaves, replaced the drop rod receiver, and set a new center stop so they meet without kissing hard enough to chip paint. The owner uses the gate daily for a landscape trailer, so the latching sequence had to hold up under palms and tailgates. It does now.
Ghost Controls Opener Short-Cycling Near Roeding

A home near Roeding had a Ghost Controls opener that would reverse about three feet from closed and then fight itself until it faulted out. The issue came down to magnetic limit sensors reading erratically, likely heat-stressed after too many Fresno summers. We replaced the limit module, relearned the travel path, and tested the gate through thirty full cycles before packing up. The family’s keypad and remotes both work on the first press now. We train on Ghost Controls specifically, along with LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule. Not every company around Fresno does.
Wood Gate Post Rot in the Huntington Boulevard Area

Right around Huntington Boulevard, a wood gate post had rot at the base from lawn irrigation hitting it for years. The post was still standing, which is the dangerous part, because it would have let go entirely one afternoon. We set a new post in concrete, let it cure, then re-hung the original gate that the homeowner wanted to keep. Every gate comes down to two parts: the latch that holds it and the post that carries it. One fails and you feel it. Both fail and you’re buying a whole new gate you didn’t need.
